Giftex is a perfect resource to give the best corporate gifts

February 6th, 2012

It is important for companies to understand the importance of branding and image building, hence the benefits of corporate gifting can never be under estimated. While there is plenty of variety of corporate gifts available in market, we need to select the appropriate one which meets our needs like promotional value, utility, quality of the product and the most important price.

Here are few tips which will enable you to the most economic yet quality gifts:

•    One of the important criteria while selecting a corporate gift is quality. The product should meet their status and position. If the company fails to deliver a quality gift, it would only spoil their goodwill. The behavior of the recipient would then most likely change if you end up giving them a low quality object.

•    Other important criteria for choosing a corporate gift is its utility. Promotional products like desktop articles, pens, t-shirts, bags prove to be very useful. They bring out the desired result in most cases and are most effective because of their utility to a broader category of people like housewives, employees, students and so on. Such gifts can surely bring about positive results for the companies.

•    The last but not the least important factor while selecting a right corporate gift is the budget. Though it is true that clients wouldn’t mind expensive gifts, it is important for companies to choose the right budget that brings out greater Return on Investment. It is of no good investing huge sums and bringing the same amount of business as is it otherwise would have come with a smaller investment.

•    Here are some gifting ideas that might interest you: Garments, Watches, Reading Lamps, Pen Holders, Pen Sets, Mugs / Cups, Art Sculptures, Paintings, Flower Pots, Table Clocks, Perfumes, Candles and Candle Holder, etc.

If you are still confused about selecting the right gift for your clients, why not visit the Giftex 2012 just a few days away from now; the details of this exciting event are available on the site.

The fruitful journey of The Arts Trust and ICIA

February 5th, 2012

The brain behind The Arts Trust and ICIA, Mr Vickram Sethi, is known to be a committed and articulate art aficionado. He has been actively engaged in promoting contemporary Indian art, and has been striving to raise awareness and interest in Indian art.

The Institute of Contemporary Indian Art (ICIA) serves as a logical extension of The Arts Trust vision of becoming the best source for quality work by both the distinguished and emerging artists. The Arts Trust was set up in 1990 with a long-term vision of promoting Indian contemporary art, which was just gaining in prominence at that time.

Towards this end, The Arts trust organizes art exhibitions, showcasing a wide range of talent and creativity, providing the viewers a glimpse of promising artists who work in various genres, styles, subjects and mediums.

In 1996, The Arts Trust was handed over the responsibility of managing the Harmony Show launched by the Reliance Group. It has also hosted several art camps and art events such as the annual RPG art exhibitions. The Arts Trust boasts of several prestigious clients such as RPG Group, Kotak Bank, ABN AMRO bank, Indian Hotels, Oberoi Group and Hyatt Hotel among others.

Of course, the journey has been full of several challenges, as Mr Vickram Sethi reminisces: “When I started, the art scene was quite different from what it is now. It was difficult to find space (for hosting the shows). I did my first show more than 15 years ago at the Oberoi, titled ‘Masters of India’. I was amazed at the response, and then began to do art shows at the Y B Chavan studio more often.”

He is extremely optimistic and positive about the emerging crop of artists. He quips: “There’s immense talent here!” In keeping with his vision, the previous edition of Art Expo India brought to the fore highly talented and dynamic artists from across the country and abroad in a grand event in Mumbai.

Your window to the wonderful world of gifting

January 31st, 2012

Giftex 2012 is your chanced to grasp the trend in the domain of gifting. As the event testifies, corporate gifting has been transformed into an art. If a company gifts too little it can be perceived as cheap and if it gives too much it can become a bribe. Gift the wrong thing, and it’s considered bad taste.

A truly thoughtful gift is the one that strikes a chord with the receiver; the one that reflects that you have taken efforts in selecting, packing and presenting it. A gift’s worth cannot be judged by its price tag alone. What indeed makes it valuable is your genuine emotions attached to it. A ubiquitous item can be blended with the tastes and choice of the person you are going to present it. Your thought behind the whole exercise should reflect through your gift to make it a meaningful gesture.

For example, if your friend or colleague is a youthful, upcoming and dynamic executive who loves looking sporty and sleek at work, you can opt to pick ready-to-wear line that will perfectly suit him or her. You may buy a gift that will help one in one’s daily life like contemporary clothing or something like a CD of soothing songs or challenging puzzle game that will help him or her unwind. It will come in handy for the purpose of recreation or relaxation.

Take some effort to find out what your friend or colleague has been keen on buying. This well might be a book title or a favorite music CD, currently lacking from his or her collection. If the person is a ‘do-it-your-self’ type, get a mechanical or electronic utilitarian item.
If you want to shower your friend or a close colleague with something valuable, Giftex 2012 is your opportunity to get all the great ideas to build and strengthen personal and professional bonds.

If ever there is an event to seek exciting corporate gift ideas for your most valued and prestigious customers, business associates and partners, it’s now. It’s Giftex 2012!

Gift Yoga books, VCDs and cassettes

October 7th, 2009

In the previous post, we suggested options for gym membership as an offbeat but highly effective mode to build a ‘healthy’ bond with friends and colleagues who really matter to you and to whom exercise matters owing to their hectic and stressed lifestyle.

You can help them in their quest to maintain themselves that much more with a ‘healthy’ gift. In this post, we shall consider an interesting Yoga-related gift idea. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra is indeed a fine body of work.

In a short but sweet compilation, the magical personality offered insight into basic tenets of mysticism and various methods for experiencing altered states of consciousness; setting on a path to absoluteness.

Their website states: “Yoga stimulates the parasympathetic system and thus works against stress. Regular relaxation exercises help in developing the witness attitude and help one, to distance oneself from the apparent causes of stress.

Patanjali yoga, if carried out, true to its original spirit as mentioned in the yoga sutras, can truly calm you in body and mind. Right since 1918, the renowned Yoga Institute in the city of Mumbai (located in the serene suburbs of Santa Cruz) has been disseminating disciplined and graded lessons on

Yoga and has been publishing them in pocket editions. These act as a guide on Yoga and meditation practices. There are popular publications such as the ‘Yoga Asanas Simplified’.

It offers a perfect course of Yoga tenets for daily practice. The books, written by authorities like Shri Yogendra, have given a contemporary touch to the ancient science of Yoga.

The valuable offerings like books, VCDs and cassettes at the Yoga Institute present a balanced course of Yoga and techniques of rhythmic breathing during yoga. You can get books, VCDs and cassettes at the Yoga Institute, which make a timely gift under the circumstances.

The Siddhivinayak Pooja makes a holy gift

August 31st, 2009

Ganesha, the elephant-headed God of success, help us overcome any obstacles in life. The deity is associated with virtues like wisdom, learning, power and prudence.

Ganesha is the first deity to be worshipped at the start of any auspicious occasion or a new venture. Ganesha or Ganpati is a very popular God idolized not only in India but all over the world.

Won’t it be a gratifying gift for an ardent Ganesha devotee? Mumbai’s Shree Siddhivinayak is highly revered by common people and celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan.

The official website notes: “The idol of Shree Siddhivinayak was carved out of a single black stone and is 2′6” (750mm) high and 2′ (600mm) wide with the trunk on the right. This is rather unusual appearance of Lord Ganesh.  The sanctum sanctorum housing the deity was altered time and again and finally gave way to a monolithic and magnificent structure, which was accomplished by a series of rituals.”

Book a Siddhivinayak Pooja online, which is very convenient. The following holy ceremonies are performed under the instructions and directions of competent priests.

Type of Pooja ceremonies that you can gift to someone:
1. Shodashopchar with one recitation of Atharva Sheersha
2. Shodashopchar with five recitations of Atharva Sheersha
3. Shodashopchar with eleven recitations (MahaPooja)
4. Nava-dampathya Ashirvachan Pooja (for the newly weds)
5. Pooja to seek blessings on a special occasion like birthday, marriage anniversary

The prasad along with Sindur, tilak, Shree’s picture will be given to the person mentioned by post after the Pooja is performed. You can register for the holy ceremony on any day of the month.

The priests perform them by Name of the devotee registered online. One time postal charges are included for the address within India or outside. If you book multiple Pooja, the prasad will be sent for multiple times.

Ganesha: Anecdotes and history

August 26th, 2009

Ganesh festival is a perfect confluence of philosophy, mysticism, and mythology. The stories of God’s divine pastimes have great symbolic connotations, and require full understanding and concentration to be blessed with pure happiness and peace. Whoever understands their inner and outer meanings will grasp the essence of life.

Ganesh Chaturthi, the birthday of Lord Ganesh, falls on the fourth day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada which falls in August-September. The symbolic connection behind the snake, mouse and the Lord’s pot belly and its relationship to the moon on his birthday is highly mythical and philosophic.

The entire cosmos is like the God’s belly. Shakti Parvati, the primordial energy, cooks 21 types of dishes, meaning 21 expansions of the cosmos: seven above, seven below and seven oceans - all of which are inside the Ganesha’s cosmic belly - held together by the cosmic energy symbolized as a huge snake that Ganesha ties around him.

The mouse is nothing but our inflated ego. Ganesha, using it as vehicle, represents the fact that our great Self or consciousness controls the ego, using it as a vehicle or instrument in daily life. In other words, one who controls the ego attains Ganesha-consciousness or God-consciousness.

Apart from a significant spiritual side, the festival has a social aspect. Lokmanya Tilak, the great freedom fighter, made it a public event to reshape the Indian psyche based on our own heritage and history.

The concept of public festivities is the gift given by him to the nation in the 19th century. Tilak had inspired people to organize the festival to rekindle nationalistic spirit. Since then, the purpose and form of the festival has greatly changed.

LALBAUGCHA RAJA (The Emperor of Lalbaug) in Mumbai is among the most revered and popular Ganesh idols in Mumbai visited by a host of celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar.

The Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati, located in Pune, the cultural capital of Maharashtra, is another revered idol. The Ganpati was established in 1893.
