In the previous post, we have checked what red roses, pink ones, white roses, and coral roses signify. In this post, we shall know about orange ones, yellow roses, lilac or lavender rose and other shades. There are also some hidden messages in the number of roses you opt to bundle together, which we shall try to find out.

Although orange roses are more commonly used for decoration purposes, orange roses are also great initiators of a relationship, but hinting at desire, fascination and enthusiasm, unlike the purity of the white rose. They are also a popular way of congratulating a friend or a partner. The happy color of yellow is seldom used for romantic purposes. Yellow roses mostly signify ‘congratulations,’ joy, gladness and delight, caring, ‘Welcome back,’ and ‘remember me’. They are symbols of happiness and friendship.

In earlier times, in Europe, they were also used to suggest jealousy or dying love. But today the sunshine color means happiness, mental stimulation and good cheer. These are great for the office – they spread a feeling of happiness without unnecessary romantic connotations.

Peach rose is very similar to the pink rose in terms of significance, but the peach rose is much more of a rare find. It portrays feelings of gratitude, admiration, sociability and friendship. Pale peach roses symbolize modesty. When combined together, roses change their significance. While a bouquet of red roses signify love, combine them with yellow roses to symbolize joy and celebration. White with yellow brings a sense of delicate harmony into the surroundings. A combination of red and white roses communicates unity or an engagement.

On the whole, if rose buds are your choice of flower, they signify gratitude, youth and beauty in any color. There are also some peculiar connotations of the number of roses you choose to give:

  1. The single rose, whatever its color, depicts utmost devotion to a single person.
  2. Two roses entwined together communicate the sentiment of a marriage proposal.
  3. Six roses signify your need to be loved or cherished.
  4. If you need to assure your love that he/she is truly and deeply loved, eleven should be your number.
  5. Thirteen is far from an unlucky number where roses are concerned – it indicates a silent admirer.
  6. Flamboyant and ardent lovers can also splurge on 365 roses, denoting that your love is constant throughout the year.
  7. Going one step further, 1001 roses speak volumes of a faithful love that promises to live on forever.
