The Jute Manufactures Development Council (JMDC) is the national agency for promotion of Jute. It is chaired by the Secretary, Ministry of Textiles. The prime objective of the council is effective marketing of jute products. It performs various other activities to promote jute like:
• Organization of domestic exhibitions/ sales
• Collaboration with the apex state and central marketing bodies
• Seminars, workshops and demos.
• Financial support to jute training institutions
